The Design
The sound of Harvest was total immersion by implementing constant sounds of the busy city with technological sounds, such as mechanical hums, beeps, and the alarming tone of the contact module. I emphasized the feeling of constantly being observed and never able to fully relax. As the show progressed, the city sounds gradually became mechanical hums and beeps, portraying the heightened surveillance the family is experiencing. A microphone with a Suboctaver effect was used to give the character Ginni a booming and more alarming voice. The company, InterPlanta, is such a large part of Harvest and controls every aspect of the family’s life. To highlight this, I created a jingle for the company and then recorded the vocals. The InterPlanta jingle is first heard when the Contact Module turns on, and then it plays again in minor at the end of a tense scene in the show. Being my second play that I have had the opportunity to design, I wanted to take greater creative risks and make bolder choices with Harvest!
Chunks Charts

I used a 0-5 scoring system to measure the rhythm and emotion of each major action in the plot. I would reference this to find the appropriate tempo and feeling for my sound cues.
